Stripes is the central language of my practice.
Through repetition I use stripes to construct images that exist between abstraction and representation. What initially appears as a sequence of lines gradually becomes composition; distance brings clarity, while proximity returns the image to colour and form. My architectural background informs this process. I am drawn to proportion and repetition, yet I use these structured elements to create images that feel intimate and human.Working at a large scale makes perception an active part of the work. The viewer’s position becomes part of the experience: the same painting can move between image and abstraction simply through distance. The images I use are AI -generated editorials and the painting transforms these digital references into something imperfect .I am interested in the contrast between the precision of the constructed image and the presence of the handmade—between digital and physical, which I see as control and imperfection.
